..indeed Padre Pio
loved the sacrifice of the mass..for in it he could consummate his being
through the obedience of the passion...through the sacrifice of the mass Padre
Pio could unite his holy obedience to that of Christ...truly of one soul as
Jesus said ..not my will but yours God...
...we see in
MEDJUGORJE this is not occurring due to a flippant conceited and arrogant
spirit which is pervasive among adherents to the messages...indeed either
through spiritual negligence or gluttony followers of MEDJUGORJE have missed
the meaning of the mass...in the mass the good Padre did not only see Jesus
...he saw the unified mystical body of all the universal church bound by holy submission
of will paid for by the divine token of love...no greater love than to lay down
your life for others...and by submission to church authority Padre Pio did just
that..however we do not see this occurring in MEDJUGORJE...
...as Padre Pio who
was persecuted by his Bishop and wrongly accused of faking his stigmata..he was
ordered to celebrate mass by himself...indeed Padre Pio did not rebel or
justify himself..he patiently endured his exile for 6 years...he even though
wrongly accused was after his exile ordered to say mass at 4am to not attract
too much attention to his stigmata ....did as he was told without asking why he
was sanctioned so severely..
..indeed when people
close to Padre Pio saw that he was being unjustly accused by the magisterium
Padre Pio answered those who took umbridge with the bishop and sought to criticize
him for unfair treatment of the good Padre...Padre Pio answered that the ..
”will of the Bishop is the will of God”....
..
indeed Padre Pio by suffering from the church and for the church followed in
the steps of the divine master Jesus in a most excellent manner..just as Jesus
suffered through his mercy for our sins he also suffered at the hands of his
apostles who fled when he was in the garden and who denied him..just as Peter
denied him three times...so we see that Padre Pio saw the necessity of holy
obedience to Church appointed authority...
. the phenomenon in
MEDJUGORJE is an offense to God and his shepherds..the stench of pride cascades
up through the sheepcots and the angelic orders along with all the prayers and
supplications...like a dark and winnowy smoke that you might get from the
kindling of rotten wood..the smoke serves to choke or cloak and blind those who
it comes into contact with..in effect casting a pall over their good intentions
..since the fuel of the prayer is rotted by pretention and pride we see a
festival of hypocrisiy or indeed ignorance and crass impetuosity....it is a
wonder that people don’t see that their defiance and complacency cannot be
pleasing to God who is a humble and non-contentious spirit...
...indeed it is a
wonder that the adherents of MEDJUGORJE don’t see that through pride they are
falling away from God rather they believe the opposite..their good feelings
which fool them into thinking they are closer to God indeed betray their
interior disposition...they would love to be close to God however their pride
and disobedience cuts them off...since pride is the beginning of the falling
off from God since pride by default scorns any subjection to God and by a
consequence of this the proud soul scorns to be subject to any creature of God
namely in the case of MEDJUGORJE the bishop...so we see how the phenomenon of
MEDJUGORJE has effectively subverted proper spirituality with a counterfeit
version... we see no holy obedience and so humility does not follow and pride
reigns..hence the inordinate amount of spiritual sloth neglect and interior
complacency it is a slovenly spirituality...since complacency is a symptom of
latent pride..such a one believes they are without blemish since they feel emotionally
that God has touched them so deeply and so they neglect proper recollection and
fall into unseemly spiritual habits...
“ Pride is said to be the
most grievous of sins because that which gives sin its gravity is essential to
pride. Hence pride is the cause of gravity in other sins. Accordingly previous
to pride there may be certain less grievous sins that are committed through
ignorance or weakness. But among the grievous sins the first is pride , as the
cause whereby other sins are rendered more grievous. And as that which is the
first in causing is the last in the
withdrawal from sin, a gloss on PSALM 18:13, "I shall be cleansed from the
greatest sin," says: "Namely from the sin of pride, which is the last
in those who return to God, and the first in those who withdraw from God."

..so
we see the first sin in those who withdraw from God the root of which is
Pride..and through disobedience to the local ordinary at MEDJUGORJE we have as
the root cause..spiritual pride and obstinate orientation towards one’s own
prerogative..
..indeed
praying the rosary and fasting are good spiritual exercises but are subverted
if the fruit of such exercise does not yield ardent works of charity according
to one’s vocation whether active or religious..Padre Pio indeed spent hours
working in the confessional to free souls from the bondage of sin ..may we all
take this example and put it to practice..by sincere works of charity…..following
visions will not bring us closer to God as it mentions in scripture….

acts of charity united to the bosom of the church through her sacraments annexed by holy obedience ...inevitably
will make straight the paths of the Lord… a sure sign that God is working
within…. amen
