Marshall McLuhan the great Canadian pioneer on the philosophy of communication theory ..the man who coined the phrase ..Global village... tells us that...

 THE MEDIUM IS THE MESSAGE

 

McLuhan tells us that a "message" is, "the change of scale or pace or pattern" that a new invention or innovation "introduces into human affairs."..as well McLuhan states that the medium is any extension of ourselves…for example a tool such as a hammer or a computer or even thoughts and language….

So we see at MEDJUGORJE... owing to the subjective attitude among proponents of the apparitions that  a spirit  of mutiny and insubordination  tacitly sanctions...

 the MESSAGE of MEDJUGORJE as one of SUBJECTIVISM and DISOBEDIENCE to authorized church authority…

 

..the ground of the medium is the attitude or intellect and will of the advocates of the messages themselves…we see the attitude towards church authority has changed…whether it is owing to the libertarian influence of Vatican 2 (pastoral council) or a misconstrued understanding of prior teaching of the Extraordinary Universal Magisterium… which carries a note of infallibility..to which the novel aspects of Vatican 2 do not due the councils pastoral nature..however when Vatican 2 refers to prior extraordinary universal proclamations then such parts of Vatican 2 can be said to be infallible…we must be wary of falling into indifferentism, latitudinarianism, subjectivism, syncretism etc….

III. INDIFFERENTISM, LATITUDINARIANISM

17. Good hope at least is to be entertained of the eternal salvation of all those who are not at all in the true Church of Christ. -- Encyclical "Quanto conficiamur," Aug. 10, 1863, etc.

18. Protestantism is nothing more than another form of the same true Christian religion, in which form it is given to please God equally as in the Catholic Church. -- Encyclical "Noscitis," Dec. 8, 1849

..except to where the syllabus contradicts infallible church teaching by the extraordinary universal magisterium….

When we are told by the apparition itself to disobey ..regarding two priests who were suspended in the diocese the apparition told the seers…Thursday April 15, 1982..the apparition gives advice to the suspended priests

….Do not obey anyone!Do not blame yourselves for anything at all, and above all do not go away from Mostar…

it should be noted that the pope took away their priestly priviledges of saying confession and mass ..eventually they were reduced to the lay state…however the apparition contradicts the pope so we must be wary…we see that the message here is the change in attitude of the church”s faithful towards its magisterium and its edicts and decrees…

…the meaning of "the medium is the message:" We can know the nature and characteristics of anything we conceive or create (medium) by virtue of the changes - often unnoticed and non-obvious changes - that they effect (message.)…

..and in MEDJUGORJE  we see so much advertising of pilgrimages which indeed are disobedient to a decree by the local bishop as well as to the zadar commission which is the official position of the church…the church allows people to visit however by visiting MEDJUGORJE one cannot make such a visit a verification that the apparitions are of supernatural origin…

 

A point of view can be a dangerous luxury when substituted for insight and understanding

…so we see that is what we have at MEDJUGORJE  the dangerous luxury of subjectivism and emotion and good feelings has been substituted by the insight and understanding of the local bishop..it is he who holds the authority of the church on matters of private revelations in his diocese…

..the sin of simony..

 

‘Thus to promise prayers only in exchange for a certain sum of money is simony forbidden by divine (natural) law.To confer sacred orders or obtain some position of authority in the Church in return for money or its equivalent is simony forbidden by ecclesiastical law. When simony is against the divine law, it is always a grave sin. Its gravity in other cases depends on the serious nature of what is bought or sold, and on the degree of scandal given’-Modern Catholic Dictionary

.…as we see in the seer Ivan offering stays at his private chapel with a vision for the price of admission…

..the spirit of consumerism or the merchant mentality in the end consumes itself and loses its ability to actualize itself fully since it is weighed down by the objects (materialism) of its passions..outside of right reason (prudence)… since God is the simplest of all substances he cannot be divided and he cannot weigh the soul down instead everyone who rests in God and his church is able to actualize themselves fully since God is pure actuality…the lover transformed in the beloved…amen
