....A Devil of a Time / or/ The Devil's own time-a very difficult time...etymology rooted from old English to equate an instance of great grief in one's life through the use of hyperbolic trope analogizing the torment exacted on the Devil by his own choice through Divine justice ...as a consequence of doing that which is contrary to the will of God....
...now..at MEDJUGORJE what sort of activity is going on which is contrary to the will of God...the discerning soul which moves in temperance and makes its choices through the use of wise counsel and acquired prudence..must ask itself..how is one able to do the will of God..and by so doing find rest in eternal beatitude...
..we should see that after reasonable deliberation it is quite evident that two successive Bishops have cautioned the faithful to disregard any such attributions made concerning Supernatural visions at MEDJUGORJE...
..also the CHUrch itself has stated through the ZADAR COMMISSION..that it cannot be affirmed that any SUpernatural apparitions are occuring in MEDJUGORJE...
..also we as the faithful have the most recent letter from the CDF to the Bishop's Conference of the USA stating that has not allowed the faithful to participate in any public gatherings which take for granted the credibility of any SUpernatural apparitions associated with MEDJUGORJE..and this means it is imprudent and rash to give the assent of our faith to any seer who publicly claims to see the Virgin Mary..since this would put one's faith at the subjection of possible error and even alienate one's soul from the magisterium of the Church putting one into danger of spiritual schism and possible latae sententia excommunication....
..now unfortunately many of the faithful have not taken the proper time to reasonably consider the ramifications of disobeying the magisterium at this place...true some people take it on good faith that the people sowing discord within the Church are not lying when they say it is ok to attribute a note of supernaturality to these apparitions...and that no harm can come to anyone who prays and confesses their sins and publicly professes their devotion the Virgin of MEDJUGORJE..however this is misleading & insufficient..for we have an obligation to CHrist to obey our BIshops in good standing who do not promote sin...
.... the Devil is a subtle creature..and very intelligent..for the sin of the Devil is reliance on his own will and disdain for the will of God..and if the Devil is able to mould disciples to him through this spirit then he has done his job..by sowing tares among the wheat...fear and loathing..which percolates underneath all the outward false piety and superficiality at MEDJUGORJE...
THE PARABLE OF THE TARES AND THE WHEAT
[24] Another parable he
proposed to them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man that sowed
good seeds in his field. [25] But while men were
asleep, his enemy came and oversowed cockle(tares) among the wheat and went his way.
[26] And when the
blade was sprung up, and had brought forth fruit, then appeared also the cockle(tares).
[27] And the servants of
the goodman of the house coming said to him: Sir, didst thou not sow good seed
in thy field? whence then hath it cockle? [28] And he said to them:
An enemy hath done this. And the servants said to him: Wilt thou that we go and
gather it up? [29] And
he said: No, lest perhaps gathering up the cockle, you root up the wheat also
together with it. [30]
Suffer both to grow until the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say
to the reapers: Gather up first the cockle (tares), and bind it into bundles to burn,
but the wheat gather ye into my barn...in this instance we see in reference to MEDJUGORJE..we have the good man (the local Bishop) who sows good seed by acting within his authority to protect the faithful...we have the enemy (the Devil & his spirit) or those who promote disobedience ..and while the men are asleep (lacking proper discretion) those prelates who also promote MEDJUGORJE as a place of SUpernatural visions...the enemy sows dodgy doctrine in the mind of the faithful since the faithful trust the men who are "asleep" in a supine intellectual manner (SLOTH) since they are also men of the cloth..and insidious guile and mistrust grows in the hearts of the faithful..in this way we can understand the parable of the tares.... and one sees how good fruit grows together with bad fruit...in the garden of the soul....
...see CATENA AUREA here- http://www.ccel.org/ccel/aquinas/catena1.ii.xiii.html for
consonant commentaries of the TARES & THE WHEAT
...indeed God operates judiciously through one organ in a temporal sense..and this is through the magisterium of his CHurch..to bind and to loose..he has Given the keys to the CHurch..and what is bound through the magisterium on earth is also bound in heaven...
..true many people have said that heaps of conversions have come about at MEDJUGORJE..however this is a logical fallacy of the cum hoc ergo propter hoc variety...just because people visited this place and were moved by all the outward piety witnessed as a result of the pastoral decrees of the CHurch that they associate a conversion because of claimed apparitions is simple casuistry...
..also if people truly had a desire to love Our Blessed Mother...and had MEDJUGORJE not existed..there are plenty of authorized sites that offer confession and mass...and through these CHurch approved sites many would be converted..and they would not come away with an obstacle to grace by disobeying the local ORdinary and having a spirit of contention sown within...
..so we see that the local Bishop is the one who suffers at MEDJUGORJE..and is having the Devil's time trying to bring order to this place...for he and his predecessor have been made to seem the laughingstock..and in turn unity and trust in the apostolic succession and Commission of Christ has weakened....and so the faithful discredit CHrist unknowingly..albeit in some cases with extreme arrogance and prejudice...
..when we disobey the BIshops who lead us and who do not condone sin then we spiritually tear down the walls of our Church...without our Bishops to gaurd our flock we open ourselves up to the wolf of desire which lurks within each one us and we open ourselves up to the wolf of error who prowls in the outer darknees ready to snatch up the unwary lambs (laity)...
...we see at Medjugorje we may easily discern hallmarks of the spirit of the Devil and these are....disobedience....obstinance.....spiritual gluttony....pride...envy....sloth...rancor....and obdurate disdain for CHurch appointed Authority...
..so let us all examine ourselves with a view to unity and love..so that we may follow the BIshops who have been commissioned by Christ in fidelity ...for Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth...which recalls PSALM 37:11-"while patient souls are the land's heirs...which of course alludes to the land of heaven....amen
